Special Issue #4 – Digital edition
Immersion in the virtual world of artists
For six years now, virtual reality has become a household name that transcends our vision of the possible for those who have been able to try it. A small revolution that can be compared to the emergence of the Internet in the 1990s. This time too, the craze is massive, as are the investments and the amazing technological promises. But what exactly is the use of virtual reality?
Here, it is the artists who, according to us, offer the best answer: they are the ones who explore with appetite the expressive possibilities of a medium entirely turned towards sensation and immersion. What could be more normal for them, who are used to searching, in their sensibility and their history, the material of intense perceptions.
Far from the gratuitous sensations of roller coasters or zombies, there is another virtual reality that re-enchants our perspectives, generates poetry and widens the field of our possibilities.
