Born in 1977, Delphine Diallo is a French-Senegalese visual artist and photographer. She lives and works in the Brooklyn district of New York. In 1999, she graduated from the Académie Charpentier, a school of applied arts, and then worked in the music industry for 7 years. In 2008, she moved to New York and worked with photographer and artist Peter Beard. Following this experience, she decided to return to her father’s hometown in Senegal to start a new life as an artist.
Delphine Diallo combines art with activism by pushing the many possibilities of empowerment of women, youth and cultural minorities through visual provocation. The photographer uses analogue and digital photography and collage, while continuing to explore new media. Today, her work can be found in numerous private and public collections in Europe and the United States.
