    Martin Bogren – Passenger

"A major figure in contemporary Swedish photography, Martin Bogren is developing a work in which the personal and poetic dimension is asserting itself with a practice of photography that is part of a form of initiatory journey. In Passenger, even though the photographs were taken in India during several stays in Calcutta, it is not an Indian chronicle. It is about something else, a form of wandering, which is not limited to a geographical journey, a test of distance or confrontation with an unknown environment and culture, a change of scenery. The photographer delivers a set where a form of abandonment pierces, of letting go that he translates with harsh or dreamlike images. His photographs emerge as subjective visions that reveal ambivalence, angelic or monstrous figures, lightness and violence. For the first time, he integrates color into his work, which he alternates with great consistency with his black and white approach. As a way of developing a language that allows him to experience the world and himself." Caroline Bénichou

    Yves Trémorin – Monica

A figure of French contemporary photography, first known in the 1980s as a member of the mythical and sulphurous trio Noir Limite (with Florence Chevallier and Jean-Claude Bélégou), Yves Trémorin has been building a rigorous body of work for several decades, both in its procedures and its processes. In a practice at the origin as much as at the margin and at the heart of his work, he has not ceased, for more than 40 years, to photograph his companion Monique. Several series have thus been created, often exhibited or reproduced in a fragmentary manner: "Les Amants magnifiques", "Chambre close", "Un dimanche" and "Monica". They are finally published in their entirety in this book, accompanied by numerous unpublished photographs from the 1980s and 1990s, selected with Yves Trémorin from his archives, showing their work process as sketches and preparatory sketches. Through the intimate photographic practice of the artist, who constructs the portrait "from Monique to Monica", companion, actress or myth, this book shows how a loving and photographic relationship constituted the beginnings of the major axes of his work. This book, born from a proposal by Caroline Bénichou (VU' gallery), includes an interview by Yves Trémorin with Michel Poivert.

Guillaume Geneste – Le tirage à mains nues

Guillaume Geneste is the creator of the laboratory La Chambre Noire in Paris. He is one of the last film printers in France and a companion of many photographers... In this book, he gives us his thoughts on the work of the photographer, on the relationship he has with the artist photographer, on the future of this profession. Reflections, anecdotes and interviews with great names of international photography (Ralph Gibson, Duane Michals, Sid Kaplan or Howard Greenberg...), as well as French photographers of all generations (Arnaud Claass, Gabrielle Duplantier, Valérie Belin, Jo Terrien...), allow us to enter the backstage of the shooter's job. The opportunity to cross paths with Jean Gaumy, Jacques Henri Lartigue, Klavdij Sluban, Denis Roche, Bernard Plossu, Henri Cartier Bresson, Martine Franck, Pierre de Fenoÿl, Sabine Weiss, Anne-Lise Broyer and many others... An unprecedented book, neither technical nor theoretical, but a book of passion and emotion that will be a reference on the subject.

    Julien Coquentin – Tropiques

With this new work, Tropiques, Julien Coquentin further explores his favorite themes of childhood, family, territory and otherness. It is after a trip to Reunion Island that he elaborated his new series. Having left to work there as a nurse, with his wife and three children, he spent two years taking photos and writing texts, considering that photography and writing are two sides of the same creation. As he said in an interview, "I believe that my writing resembles my photography and that it is therefore possible to confuse them." This is also the editorial interest of this book: to give the same role to the texts (5 short stories, like tales) and to the images, without one being an illustration of the other. Texts and photographs will thus be the two actors of the same story, each with its own particularities, thus allowing to say what cannot be imagined and to image what cannot be said. Julien Coquentin lets vibrate, in images where the dampness of the island is almost palpable, the themes of the relationship between man and nature, the intimacy of the family caught in a foreign territory, the difference of the other culture...

Gaël Bonnefon – Elegy for the Mundane

For a long time, Gaël Bonnefon has titled all his images About Decline. A body of photographs spanning more than 10 years, which pays tribute to the beauty of the banal and the everyday. He explores the interstices, between the visible and the invisible, where ordinary life reveals its shadows. His work has evolved over the years, but his writing remains consistent: here, landscapes (waterfalls, forests or large deserted areas) vibrate with the same force and intensity as scenes or portraits of people who are worn out, exhausted, out of breath, but still very much alive.Gaël Bonnefon, a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Toulouse, has exhibited at the Villa Pérochon, 104 (Paris), Arles, Photo Espana, and at the Musée des Abattoirs de Toulouse. His work is present in the collections of the FRAC Midi-Pyrénées, the Château d'Eau and the Kiyosato Museum (Japan)... The first retrospective work of his, Elegy for the Mundane presents the diversity of a work always homogeneous, being able to approach the violence and the decline as much as the softness and the tenderness. Here, the feelings are not fixed but resonate with each other...

    Gilles Roudière – Trova

"Gilles Roudière belongs to this family of intuitive and sensitive photography, he does not tell the world as it is, but as he feels it. Also in the images of Cuba that he delivers, there is neither intention of testimony, nor documentary intention. Nothing is descriptive. No clues, no geographical or social studies. That is not his intention." "With Trova, Gilles Roudière signs a photographic stroll through Cuba in the manner of the Spanish-American trovadores going from town to town to perform their songs. He lets himself be carried along by his journey and delivers powerful black and white images, with an explosive grain. Without ever stopping at the surface of things, free of clichés and any exotic temptation, his photographs play between fiction and reality and compose a story that seems to come straight out of a movie. Photographs often at the border of surrealism, carried by a fascinated and fascinating look."
