Evelyn Dragan: “Singles”

Wilderness, urban landscapes and romantic portraits make up Singles, a series by German photographer Evelyn Dragan. Based in Frankfurt, the artist divides her time between commissions and personal projects. Collected during her trips and daily roaming, the project’s images can be read as brief poems. All linked by a knowledge of colours and textures, they however become unique pieces – both sweet and melancholic. A certain loneliness emanates from this visual journey. Under the pictorial light, the streets stretch out – deserted and misty – and even the tracks of men thin down. Without ever revealing any clues about their location, the photographer captures fragments of territories, and builds a splendid and silent world.
