This year, the fourth edition of the Istanbul Photo Awards is taking place. Photographers around the world, you have until the 31st of January to send in your applications!

Istanbul Photo Awards: Call for entry is now open

Istanbul Photo Awards is an international news photography competition which aims to contribute to the sphere of news photography and offers a perspective shaped by the region’s unique position at the center of diverse cultures. The awards reward endeavors of courageous and talented photojournalists from around the world on merit.

How to apply?

To enter, all you need to do is fill in the online form before the 31st of January 2018. Applications are free. Here is some useful information:

  • The contest has ten categories such as: sport, nature, portrait
  • The international jury will announce the winner the end of March 2018
  • The winners will be shown in galleries around the world: Istanbul, Shanghai, New York, Vienna

The prizes:

  • A total of $10,000 award will be given to the winner of the Photo of the Year.
  • Winners in other categories will be given $8,000 for the first prize, $5,000 for the second and $3,000 for the third.
  • An additional $3,000 Young Photographer award is given to a winner under the age of 28.
