The Photo Festival La Gacilly is celebrating its 15th birthday this year. For this new edition, it reaffirms its commitment towards environmental issues with a new theme: ‘Empreinte(s)’, (French word meaning track, print, trace or fingerprint). The call for applications closes on March, 15th 2018.

For fifteen years, the Photo Festival La Gacilly has made its mission to raise awareness about environmental protection. Every year, more than 300,000 visitors wander around the village’s gardens, discovering around thirty exhibitions. In 2018, to celebrate its fifteenth birthday, the Festival reaffirms its support towards contemporary photography, and its commitment to the preservation of our environment.

Partnering with Fisheye Magazine, the Photo Festival La Gacilly invites everyone to reflect on the theme ‘Empreinte(s)’, a broad subject covering environmental issues and the ecological impact of mankind on its territory. Questionings prints, tracks and traces also means reflecting on photography as a medium, a sustainable tool.
